Another video for Tiesto, using the same cast of characters from the “Ecstasy” video cycle — some cool club kids seeking an underground Teisto show. When they reach it and begin to dance, we wanted to express that the music had truly taken over, moving around them and through the dancers. We visualized the music as a digital glitch, something that could actually tear the video apart from the inside out.
My team and I “broke” the video files themselves — exploiting actual flaws in the video codec to create glitches and colorful artifacts. We selected the artifacts that by chance were most visually interesting and then kept working with them: either “breaking” the file again to see what happened, or by enhancing the colors and layering over other pieces of footage. This is the result!
